August George Voisine August George Voisine, 88, of Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009. He was born on March 30, 1921 to Charles and Emma (Fortin) Voisine in Bay City, MI. He married the former Gertrude Lapan in 1946 in Bay City, MI. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as an electrician for many years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 692 out of Bay City, MI. He used to be an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved the time he spent hunting in Germfask with his son. He loved to be around children. Gus loved to socialize, and enjoyed doing the snake dance at Talley's. Gus is survived by his sons, Gayle (Becky) of Victor, MT, and Charly (Sheryl) of Rhodes, MI; daughters, Donna (Don) Mielke of Freeland, MI, Carol Smithem of Alpena, MI, and Cindy (Don) Foley of Lewiston, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tom Floris) Voisine of Bay City, MI; and a sister Edwich Lapan of Kawkawlin, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for Mr Voisine at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Bay City, MI.
