Arthur Wegner Jr

Arthur Herman Wegner, Jr Mr. Arthur Herman Wegner Jr, 76 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away on August 20, 2013 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. He was born to the late Arthur and Grace (McWilliams) Wegner Sr, in Swissvalle, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1937. In Detroit, on September 28, 1957 he married wife, Gloria (Norback) Wegner and together they spent the last 55 years with one another raising a family. Arthur lived in Atlanta for the past 18 years, formerly of Hartland. He retired as a Tool & Die Machinist from General Motors after 35 years of service. He attended the Atlanta Bible Church and was a past member of the Lewiston Sportsmen League. Archery was his passion and he loved to hunt. He was a big outdoorsman and also enjoyed to fish. He liked to watch sports on television, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Wegner of Atlanta; son, David (Melissa) Wegner of Fowlerville; daughters, Kathleen (Brian) Voege of Cape Coral, Florida; Karen (Michael) Strader of Grand Blanc; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and sister, Melinda (Gary) Jacobsen of Walled Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Grace Wegner; and son, Michael. Funeral services for Mr. Wegner will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Atlanta Bible Church, Atlanta, MI; Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, and from 2:00 until time of service at the church on Friday.
