Arthur "Denny" Dennis Rancour Mr. Arthur "Denny" Dennis Rancour, 73 of Atlanta, Michigan formerly of Lewiston, died peacefully on November 24, 2017 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. He was born in Flint, Michigan on September 14, 1944 to the late, Arthur and Martha (Kranich) Rancour. He served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard during Vietnam. Not long after his discharge from the service he married his loving wife, Elizabeth (McAvoy) Rancour in Hulbert, Michigan on September 27, 1997. Together the couple celebrated 20 years of marriage before his passing. Denny worked as a truck driver for General Motors AC Delco in Flint for 30 years, retiring in 1992. After Denny's retirement the couple spent time in the Upper Peninsula in Hulbert and in 2002 they moved from Lewiston to Atlanta. Denny was a member of the Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Atlanta, the Lewiston Mushroom Club, and the American Legion Post 198. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking. He loved to cook and was the chef at every gathering, never allowing someone to leave hungry. Denny enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Rancour of Atlanta; son, Robert (Peggy) Rancour of Bancroft; daughter, Sherry (Phil) Dickman of Howell; grandchildren, Amber, Grace, Bradley, Karli, and Nathan; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Rancour of Clio; stepdaughter, Therese Charkut of Santa Monica, California; stepson, Thomas (Jenny) Charkut of Littleton, Colorado; and step grandchildren, Evan, Rylan, and Brennan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Martha Rancour; brothers, Gene and Jule; sisters, Patricia McCleod and Marylyn Pratt; and grandson, Aaron. Funeral services for Mr. Rancour will take place at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church; Atlanta; Fr. Michael Connor officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to The Caring Place, Atlanta.
