Arthur F. Cady Arthur F. Cady, 83 of Atlanta passed away Monday September 11, 2006 at McReynolds Hall, Gaylord following an extended illness. Art was born November 28, 1922 in Rogers City, MI the son of Charles and Charlotte (Walker) Cady. He married the former Jean Maanika November 11, 1944 in Detroit, they lived most of their life in Atlanta, where they were members of Big Rock Congregational Church Art spent most of his working life on the Great Lakes and farming in Montmorency County, he enjoyed woodworking and horses; and especially enjoyed telling historical stories of the area and the upper peninsula. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Art is survived by his wife Jean; sons Charles (Pauline) Cady of Waterford, Mi, Gordon (Sue) Cady of Atlanta, Jack (Jacquie) Cady of Waterford, Mi and Eugene (Karen) Cady of Valley Springs, AR; daughters Elizabeth (Wayne) Edgar of Fenton, MI and Janet (Jeff) Davidson of Millburn, NJ, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother Clyde (Kay) Cady of Valley Springs, AR; and sister Dorothy Forstner of Baldwin, MI. Art was preceded in death by brother James; and sisters Anna Boman, Velma Maddox, Shirley Wilder, and Nola LaPlante Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday from the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor Ken McGarvey officiating. Inurnment will be in Avery Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to O.A.T.S. Offering Alternative Therapy w/Smiles, an organization that provides horseback riding experiences for children with disabilities.
