Anthony Virgil Field Mr. Anthony Virgil Field, 84 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena on September 29, 2016. He was born in Portland, Oregon on November 25, 1931 to Virgil and Katherine (Kidder) Field. Anthony moved to Atlanta in 1996, formerly of Flint. He retired from General Motors AC Spark Plug Plant in Flint in 1996 after working 30+ years. In retirement he owned and operated Timber Lodge. Anthony was a member of the Big Rock Congregational Church. The men's group there was very important to him as well as his church family. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and bird watching. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Field of Atlanta; daughters, Kathy Field of Bay City; Becky (Tom) Hendrick of Flint; Debra Field of Bay City; Michelle Garner of Atlanta; six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Katherine Field; siblings, Joyce Watts, Arthur Watts, Norman Phillips, Charline Phillips, and Charlotte Field. Funeral services for Mr. Field will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Saturday from noon until time of service. Interment will take place at Avery Township Cemetery.
