Alonzo John Weaver Alonzo John Weaver, 80, of Atlanta, MI passed away at his residence on August 12, 2010. He was born on January 25, 1930 to James and Irene (Valentine) Weaver in Briley Twp, MI. Lonnie lived all his life in the Atlanta area. He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1948 and went on to serve his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He came back to Atlanta and worked for the Tribune for 16 yrs as a printer, before owning and operating Lon and Jim's Bait Shop and then the Atlanta Hardware. After selling the hardware, he went and cut wood for Hibner Forest Products for almost 20 yrs. He was an active member at the Atlanta Congregational Church, singing in the choir and serving on many boards there over the years, and also was a member of the Atlanta Eagles and VFW. Lon also served on the Montmorency Road Commission for many years. He loved to fish and hunt, especially taking trips to Canada, Alaska, and other parts of the country to hunt and fish. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Atlanta, MI; sons, Ralph Weaver of Atlanta, and Rodney (Deborah) Weaver of Pelzer, SC; daughter, Pam (Billy) Sexton of Pinetta, FL; step son, Tony (Beth) Truett of Meskego, WI; step daughters, Becky Tinker and Amanda Friant, both of Atlanta, MI; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Merle (Marie) Weaver of Arkansas, and John (Sherry) Weaver of Montana; and sisters, Pauline (Merle) Hunt of Paw Paw, MI, Kathleen (Mike) Zuraw of Bay City, MI, Maryann (Mike) Madiford of Bay City, MI, Linda (Terry) Dishaw of Atlanta, MI, Lois (Tony) Jasenski of Bay City, MI, Ginger (Louie) Campbell of Harrisville, MI, Robin (Dan) Ashmore of North Carolina, and Lily (Bryan) Braenard, of Detroit, MI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline; sister, Jackie Newton; and brother, Jimmy Weaver. Memorial services for Mr Weaver will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor Ginny Titus officiating.
