Allen "Bud" Harris Allen "Bud" Harris, 85, of Atlanta, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Alpena, MI. He was born on July 7, 1921 to in Detroit, MI. He married the former Margaret DeShutter on February 14, 1945 to Oren and Gladys (Dryer) Harris in Detroit, MI. Bud served his country in the US Army during WWII. Bud and Margaret vacationed at their house in Atlanta since 1959, moving here permanently after retirement. Bud worked as a painter in new construction for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Atlanta VFW Post as well as the Atlanta Eagles. He loved to keep his house and especially his yard in top notch shape. Bud is survived by his wife, Margaret; sisters, Marvel Harris of Frasier, MI, Betty Pyles of Palm Springs, CA, Barbara (Fred) Smith of Harper Woods, MI, and Susan Ann Drielts of Indian River, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lyman, Russell, and Rodger. A family graveside service will be held at Briley Twp Cemetery, Atlanta, MI.
