Alice Baillargeon

Alice E. Baillargeon Mrs. Alice E. Baillargeon, 83, passed away at home in Hillman, Michigan on June 11, 2014. Alice was born in Dighton, Michigan on March 9, 1931 to Isabel and Harold Wilcox. She graduated from Reed City High School and then Central Michigan University with a degree in elementary education. She married Gary L. Baillargeon on June 20, 1953. They were married for 61 years. Her career as a highly regarded teacher was cut short when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She fought a courageous battle against the crippling disease until her death. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Baillargeon of Hillman; daughter, Eve Baillargeon of Homer, Arkansas; son, Jeffrey (Deann) Baillargeon of Lake Odessa; son-in-law, Michael Shorkey of Hudsonville; granddaughters, Erika (Andrew) Kietzman; Isabel Baillargeon-Radliff; Adriane Shorkey; and grandson, Jeffrey D. Baillargeon. Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Ann Shorkey; and parents, Isabel and Harold Wilcox. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial held in celebration of her life at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Hillman United Methodist Church; Hillman, Michigan. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice of Michigan and the Hillman United Methodist Church.
