Alice Joyce Andrus Alice Joyce Andrus, 88, of Atlanta, MI, passed away on November 26, 2009 at her residence. She was born on November 4, 1921 to Robert and Grace (Asmus) Hoagland in Brownstown, MI. She married Gilbert Andrus on December 19, 1947 in Wyandotte, MI. Joyce retired from Chrysler where she worked as a secretary for 20 yrs. She has lived in Atlanta for the past 30 yrs formerly of Trenton, MI. She was a member of the Atlanta Congregational United Church of Christ. She loved to play BINGO and card games, and also watching game shows. She liked to watch the birds outside and was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football. Joyce is survived by her husband, Gilbert of Atlanta, MI; son, Brent (Cindy) Andrus of Trenton, MI; daughters, Linda Andrus of Oaxaca, Mexico, and Brenda (Mike) Gentile of Trenton, MI; grandchildren, Melissa, Eric, Megan, Steve, Jeff, and Shelly; and great grandchildren, Madison and JR. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Mann; and brothers, Robert and Alfred Hoagland. Funeral services for Mrs Andrus will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, at 11:00 AM, Rev. Ginny Titus officiating. Interment will take place at Briley Twp Cemetery, Atlanta. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 3-7 PM, and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials to the Atlanta Congregational UCC, Baby Basket program.
