Adrianus "Art" Vandervoort Adrianus "Art" Vandervoort, 80, of Atlanta, MI, formerly of Chelsea, MI, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2006 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1926 in the Netherlands to Hermanus and Maria Haver. He married Shirley on October 14, 1972 in Chelsea, MI. Art retired from the DANA Corp, after 30 yrs of service. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He liked carpenter work, and was quite a handyman. He was a hardworking man. Art was an avid horse racing fan as well. Mr Vandervoort is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Atlanta, MI; sons, Jeffrey (Michelle) Weber, Todd (Shelly) Weber, and David (Tammy) Weber all of Grass Lake, MI; daughter, Lisa Smith of Atlanta, MI; grandchildren, Josh, Kristi, and Ila; brother, Tom Vandervoort of Chelsea, MI; and numerous sisters back in the Netherlands. Graveside services were held on Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Avery Twp Cemetery, Pastor Ken McGarvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Elk Country Animal Shelter.
