Alfred Brian Sumerix
Mr. Alfred Brian Sumerix, 49 of Wolverine, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on the afternoon of September 18, 2017. He was born in Petoskey, Michigan to the late, Elon and Alice (Curtis) Sumerix on June 20, 1968. Al lived in Wolverine his entire life and worked for Mayville Engineering Corporation as a foreman before retiring after 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved anything with a motor. He enjoyed mudding, extreme sports, dirt bikes, riding snowmobiles, boating, and riding jet skis. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Taylor (Kaitlin) Belding of Gaylord; daughters, Faith Dakers; Charity Dakers; McKenna Dakers all of Gaylord; granddaughter, Kylee; brother, Elon "Buzz" (Dee) Sumerix of Wolverine; sister, Carla (Jack) Atwell of Smyrna, Tennessee; companion, Missy Riley of Wolverine and her children, Ryan, Robert, and Hailey; and adopted son, Tyler Parkman of Vanderbilt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elon and Alice Sumerix; and brother, Bernie.
As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at 5:00PM on October 7, 2017 at Mr. Sumerix's home; located at 7537 Wolverine Rd; Gaylord.
